Is it just me...

or does the new Blog format tend to annoy? Just throwin' that out there. Anywho, I have created this post to actually receive advice, so if you are reading this post, please comment with advice. Here's my problem: I am 12,000 words deep into the creation of this book. I literally woke up on night, grabbed my SmartPhone, and jotted down 7,000 words of First Chapter epicness. It was awesome. And the book's going great, but I'm being drawn to a COMPLETELY different creation, that's forming in my head, and I don't know what to do with it. Should I keep my focus on the book thats already 12,000 words in, and going good, or should I move onto this other idea. My fear is, that once I move onto this other idea, my first creation will shrivel up from lack of use and die. I don't want that to happen. Please help.

  1. Focus on the book you are already working on, but jot down some ideas for the new book so you don't lose or forget them. As ideas come for the book write it down, but keep te focus on the book you are on, once you are done work on the new idea, you'll have the ideas jotted down all you will have to do is develop them into a novel. I hope that helps.

  2. Oh, you think the blog format is annoying? :( Sorry about that. Do you mind telling me how so?

Also, I believe you should stick with the one you've got going. Perhaps write down a few ideas for the other one to try out in the future, but I think it would probably be a good idea to stick with what you've got and write it out. :]

  3. Hmm. That's a tough question. (And, do you usually wake up to write in the middle of the night?)

The answer to your questions has already been answered above. :3

  4. Oh Skyril, I didn't mean THIS blog. I meant the Blogger site itself, like the home page. This blog is perfect ^_^

  5. Ah, yay!
I'm glad you like it. :]
    Sorry I misunderstood you :P
I unfortunately do that frequently... I suppose it's part if being a blond o_O :P
lol, kidding... mostly.... I seem to be making pointless jokes, and being delirious lately xD

Blogger itself? Hm, I guess I haven't really noticed although I haven't messed with Blogger for a while... I mean with the homepage and all so I guess my say isn't all that valid... I'll have to pay attention next time.

  6. Viv - Take it from a guy who has non-stop new ideas creeping their way to the front of the line in his head: write down the idea of the other one, continue with the 12k one. If you feel a bit tired of writing the the 12k one, write a bit of the other one, then go back to the 12k refreshed! Seems to work for me. :)
