A cry for help

Well, not exactly a cry. A type, perhaps? Nevermind. I'm off topic. I was wondering. Is around 7,000 words long enough for a first chapter. Because that's how much I have in my first chapter, and I don't really know whether I need to add more or leave it be. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. (And I know this is a very short post. Sorry.)

  1. :O That's DEFINITELY enough for the first chapter!

Actually, it doesn't much matter how much you need for chapters. Just focus on getting it to how you want to be, and how you want the storyline to flow with it.

  5. Usually chapters tend to be 2,000-5,000 or so words. Seven thousand is a bit long as the reader will get bored waiting for the next chapter. Try to keep your chapters between 5-15 pages. :)
