Come and Write

  What say you we have a competition, hm?
Competitions are always fun! Well, generally anyway... well, OURS will be fun how about that! 8]

  Ok, short story! A simple short one that you can write and vote on :D
It will get the creative juices flowing! And those are the tastiest...
No, I am NOT a zombie.

  But we're going to write about one. Obviously, you don't HAVE to if you don't want to, but it will be fun so you should :D

Ok, rules:
1000 words is the limit. [That's words, not characters]
Must have at least one zombie in it.
Must be submitted by August 20th. [That's this month, the 20th, ok?]
When you finish, email it to me at sakura.c@goowy.com . Once I get it, I'll post it so that it's anonymous and people can vote on whichever one they like the best. [This is so that people won't be choosing one just because it's their best friend's writing]
You cannot tell anybody which one is yours.

By the way, this does not have to be a Skulduggery Pleasant Fan-fic, but it can be if you want to.
Another thing, just so you know, I'll be most likely submitting one too, [I can't miss out on the action!] but I promise I won't do anything special to mine. Oh, and of course, I won't be voting since I'll know which one is which.
  There will be allowed seven [7] days of voting time so that people who may not come on as often will have a chance to vote as well. I'll explain how to vote when the time comes! :D [Oh, sorry... Due to my awkwardness with time online it may not be exactly on the day, but I'll cut it long, rather than short so no one will be cheated out of submitting or voting.]

As you may have noticed, there is a new background. It is a template. If Skyril allows me, I will make width adjustments and such so the blog is spiff and fancy. I have a lot of ideas, so . . . can I at least try? And then if you don't like it, I can take it away.

Ah, one more thing, I added the activity  chart and pageviews on the topright. Unfortunately, it didn't count all of the previous pageviews [like I thought it would]. Honestly, we have over 10,000 pageviews, just so you know. And the activity is over the last 30 days.

  Anyway, I know it's hard, but think about it, you really DO want to write even if you don't feel like it at some particular time.

HELP! (Deja vu)

I THINK I might have switched out of all main characters in my book. .___. But I'm a bit confused. I liked the First Class. They're the founders and stuff. They're the alter egos of my best friends. Buuut... we're all too much alike. That's great in real life, but in a book... that doesn't work for much plots.

So. You might be wondering about the new characters. Late at night three or so months ago, I created characters for a Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood fan fiction. The characters ROCK, they're all cool and stuff, and I desperately want to use them, but... there's also the question: Would the OTHER characters in the book fit well with them? SO! I need your help!

(Pick two)

a.) Go with the originals/First Class
b.) Go with the new ones/fan fic children.
c.) Go with the fan fic children, but slide in the First Class later, so they're still included.
d.) Put up short character bios about what they're like, Mar, because I have NO IDEA what you're talking about!!!

BY THE WAY. I had a dream that I met Red. She had a colorful rainbow shirt on and was reading the Harry Potter books in a different language. But I'm pretty sure you don't live in the Michigan Ohio border area/around Toledo. So I knew it was a dream.
(But it was a fun dream)

(Published) Teen Authors

Everyone was upset and/or asking about published teenage authors a while back. I now have a list of about five and their blogs if they have them (or links to their writings).

And those people are the ones that published closest to my own age. There's a lot of 18-19 published young authors too, but I felt the need not to include them because I'm cruel like that. A Reminder

Just to remind you guys what this is and why you're doing it! (I've been seeing a lot of nonactive people lately.)

Hullo, everyone! :]
I'm Skyril!
And if you're reading this than I'm sure you probably already know that and are waiting for me to get on with this little explanation.
But first, cupcakes!

Everyone comfortable? Okie-doke, then, I shall begin.

The name and url of this blog have a meaning, deeper than you may have first guessed. A good bit of thought and edits were put into both of them.
First off, the url, SPG-UnitedToWrite.blogspot.com. SPG stands for Skulduggery Pleasant Gang. Skulduggery Pleasant gang united to write. We'll get to the details of this in a moment, but first, the title of the blog.
Writers Rule the World. We decided on this name because the SP gang spreads across the earth from Louisiana to Yorkshire, from Sydney to Michigan, from California to Kilarney, and everywhere in between.
Writers from everywhere have united together through one man, one book, and now, what I hope for is something new to unite us as well.
The thought came from one longing.
One wish.
One aim.
One problem.
For us all to get together, all of the SP gang, and to meet and have fun. The problem with that is, most of us probably don't have enough money to get to that someplace to meet.
Well, thinking about that problem and trying to figure out a solution, seeing as I'm rather unlikely to win the lottery anytime soon, especially since I don't buy lottery tickets so therefore could not win and furthermore could not buy all of you plane tickets and hotel rooms and all that, an idea bloomed in my mind. That very idea is what drove me to create this blog after some considerate discussion and planning with one Legolas.
You see, all of you are so very clever, so very clever indeed. You write poetry, stories, songs, and many other fantastic things. Your skills in these trades shock me daily. So, I thought, we should use those skills. You should use those skills.
Use them to write a book.
Separate, wonderful books.
I just know, they're gonna be awesome!
I know that it might sound a bit silly right now, but I have faith.
You see, we've come up with a plan that Lego and I and whomever else that wants to will follow. It's a simple plan, true, but I think it will work.
So, starting on the first of October, we will begin to write and try our best to write at least a paragraph a day. We'll write and write till we reach the end, however long it takes. Then, once we're satisfied with it, we'll show one another somehow and give suggestions, or make small edits to help make it better. Then, of course, we'll try to get them published. :]
What this blog is for, is, well, a lot of things. Whomever wishes to do this with us will be made a member of the blog so that he can write a post if he so wishes.
You ask what we'd be posting about? Well, again, there are a lot of things you could post, such as hardships you're going through with writing your novel, encouragement to others, celebrations or exciting things that have happened, or, anything!
That's the plan.
It might not make us wealthy in the slightest. It might make us tired and sore; however, I think it will still be great fun no matter what.
If you wish to join and participate, then that's wonderful, and it will be a high encouragement to those already a part of it.
But, if you do join, I would appreciate it if you visited this blog frequently. Perhaps bookmark it or leave a reminder somewhere where it will be hard to forget. I would also appreciate if you commented or wrote a post sometimes to let everyone else know that you're still around, still writing, still sharpening the fantastic skills each of you already has.
If you do say yes, you want to do this with us, then leave a comment on this post with your email, any questions you might have, and anything else you'd like to say. You have till the end of September to sign up because remember, starting on October first we'll begin our writing.

I really hope to see many of you like this idea and sign up. For me, my heart has been pounding ever since I thought about actually doing this, and I've been grinning madly the entire time. :D

That's The End Of That. (A Finished Novel)

So, as some of you may have heard, I finished my novel--Gepard Valk--last night. And I must say, I am proud. I'm proud of the way things worked out for Gepard and Qunn and Alaric and Red and Derek and Jake and Darkine even though I forgot to include him in the last few chapters . . . That's what editing is for anyway.

And I'm upset about the deaths of friends. The deaths that led to the ramblings and gushes of tears. But, that boosted word count.

Also, I won Camp NaNoWriMo. :D Yaaayyyy!

So that means it CAN be done and it means that YOU are going to do it. *glares and threatens with a porcupine*

I'm so glad that my novel is finished, but I'm also so upset that I have to bid adieu to my characters. They were literally like a family to me. Even when I wasn't writing, I was either thinking about their adventures or having a conversation with them in my head . . . because I'm strange.

I just want to let you guys know that I couldn't have finished this feat were it not for all your support. You told me to get off my ass when I was lazy, told me I wasn't allowed to quite when I stopped writing. Thank you.
